The feature of the cottage is Pollys Bonnet Shop -
a room devoted to Pollys Thomas and her hat making paraphernalia.
Polly's Cottage overlooks beautiful Queen Square, and is part of the "Up Street Moonta" heritage walk.
Polly's Cottage was made famous
in Phyllis Somervilles novel "Not Only In Stone" - about the Cornish women Polly Thomas and her family,
their life in the mining era of the
1800's in Moonta, and beyond.
The novel is available for sale at the
cottage - and is an excellent insight into the history of the copper mining towns of Kadina and Moonta.
