Ardrossan itself has extensive facilities for the mining and shipping of dolomite, as well as being the third largest grain bulk handling facility in the State. The town provides services and facilities for communities along the east coast of the peninsula, the rural community to the west and the ever increasing tourist population. It is a very popular holiday resort. Ardrossan is also famous for its Blue Crabs, a seafood delicacy found in the shallow mudflats. |
